National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI)
NPCI is a public sector organization initiated by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) . It is registered as a not-for-profit company under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013. It functions as a critical infrastructure provider for retail payments and settlement systems, including UPI, RuPay, IMPS, and NACH and many more. It is an umbrella organisation for all retail payment systems in India.
